Madrid Airport is situated just 9 kilometres from the Financial District of Madrid and it is 13 kilometres northeast of Madrid’s Historic Centre – the Puerta del Sol. In 2013, Madrid Airport was the sixth busiest airport in Europe.
Visitors to Madrid will have access to different modes of transport which will bring you directly to Madrid’s city centre from the airport including Bus, Metro, Aerocity, Aresmobile, Taxi and Car Rental services.
Bus No.200 goes from the airport to Madrid’s Central Business District. Buses depart from Terminal 2 passing through Terminal 1 before going to the interchange – Avenida de America, which is the last stop. From here you will be able to take the metro. The bus costs only €1 and you will be able to purchase your tickets on the bus.
From Madrid Airport you can access the Airport’s Metro Station from Terminal T2 or from the new Terminal T4. Metros depart every five minutes from 06.00am until 2am in the morning. Line 8 goes directly to the Nuevos Ministerios Metro in the centre of the Spanish capital. It takes only 12 minutes.
Aerocity is a taxi service which you can reserve online. If there are three or more passengers it is definitely worth booking. It costs €23 for 3 passengers and €6.50 for an individual.
This chauffeur driven service is second to none. It also must be reserved prior to your arrival. You will be met in the Arrivals Hall by your chauffeur.
Taxis at Madrid Airport are located outside the Terminal building.
Madrid Airport provides all the main Car Rental Companies including Hertz, Europcar and Avis to name just a few.
The Car Rental offices are located between the first and second Arrival Halls or in Terminal 1.
