The Eid-al-Adha is a four day Islamic festival, which begins on the tenth day of the month of Dhul Hijja to commemorate Abraham’s sacrificing of his son.

Animals are usually decorated in plastic jewellery for the Eid-al-Adha Festival.

Prayers are observed, the sacrificing of an animal be it a sheep, cow, goat or buffalo is expected and people normally give away approximately one third of their meat to friends and neighbours as well as donating one third to the poor.

A trip to Nigeria wouldn’t be the same without experiencing all that this religious festival has to offer.
