Durga Pooja

Durga Puja is an annual Hindu festival which celebrates worship to Durga, the Hindu Goddess. During the last five days of the Navaratri is when Durga Puja is celebrated. Before festival celebrations commence people will be able to enjoy Devi Pakksha, which is the Fortnight of the Goddess, Mahalaya, which is the last day of the previous fortnight Pitri Paksha and it concludes on Kojagori Lokkhi Puja.

Durga Puja is celebrated in the Indian states of Bihar, West Bengal, Tripura, Odisha and Assam.

Durga Puja celebrates Durga’s mighty victory over Mahishhasura, the evil buffalo demon.

A major part of this magical festival is the singing, dancing and the sweets. Precious gifts are sent to loved ones during this magnificent festival.
